Professional Biography
Michel Mestre is a Professor of International Business at Kyoto International University where he teaches management, finance and strategy courses. During his academic career, Mestre has been a visiting research fellow at leading universities in Europe and Asia. His current research interests focus on performance and change management with an emphasis on the important role of visual control and empowerment. Mestre actively provides lean management advisory services to businesses and organization both inside and outside the United States.

Industry Involvement
Dr. Mestre, prior to becoming a professor, served as a management consultant for W.M.C. where he contributed to the turn around of over thirty distinct businesses in a wide variety of industry sectors. Mestre currently sits on the lean advisory board of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard University Teaching Hospital) and provides consulting services to both manufacturing and service organizations.
Service / Interests
Dr. Mestre is a member of the editorial advisory board of the International Journal of Business Performance Management. He currently resides in Bellingham, Washington.
